Elevate Your Gel Imaging with Accuris SmartDoc 2.0

Experience the future of gel imaging with the Benchmark Scientific Accuris SmartDoc 2.0. This innovative system combines safety, efficiency, and smartphone integration to streamline your nucleic acid visualization and documentation processes.

The illumination base emits an intense blue light with a peak output of 460nm for optimum excitation of nucleic acids stained with green fluorescent dyes (SYBR® Green, SmartGlow™, GelStar™, GelGreen™, etc). The orange cover fits on top of the illumination base and acts as a filter to absorb blue light, allowing visualization of the fluorescing samples. The cover can also be set at an angle for gel access and cutting out DNA bands for further study.

Optional amber glasses are available (NEB-E4000-VG1 SmartBlue Viewing Glasses). These are ideal for users that are doing a lot of band excision work, as they eliminate the need for the orange cover allowing full access to the gels.

The SmartDoc™ imaging enclosure includes an orange photo filter for photography of the gels with a smart phone. An extending adapter can be inserted for full dimension imaging of gels up to 15 x 15 cm or removed for close up pictures. The enclosure can also be used directly on any other existing UV or blue light transilluminator. Additional filters are available for imaging gels on a UV transilluminator. Please see our “Filter and User Guide” to show which filter is best for different imaging applications.

Please see our Technical Bulletin showing sample gel images captured with an iPhone using the SmartDoc System.

The SmartDoc Imaging Enclosure can also be purchased separately (item no. NEB-E5000-SD) without the blue light illumination base. The enclosure by itself can be used on most existing UV transilluminators or blue light transilluminators for smart phone imaging.

Can the Accuris SmartDoc 2.0 be used for cutting bands from gels?
Yes! An orange filter cover is included with the SmartDoc 2.0 blue light base. You can remove the SmartDoc Enclosure and place the filter cover over the base for viewing gels or at an angle for cutting bands from gels.

Can I zoom in on my images using the Accuris SmartDoc 2.0?
Yes, this can be done in two ways; digitally and physically. Digital zooming can be performed using your mobile device. Physical zooming can be achieved by removing the extender from the SmartDoc Imaging Enclosure. This will bring the camera closer to the gel.

Great image quality and easy to use. Perfect for a teaching lab.

Bought this for a teaching lab. Our existing system created multiple workflow bottlenecks when multiple students needed to image their gels at the same time. Taking turns using the imaging system and then having to transfer files from a shared device attached to the imager to students' accounts. This SmartDoc imaging system takes great pictures using students' phones. There's really nothing i can complain about for the quality of the image I need for the purposes of a teaching lab. The system is a fraction of the cost of a traditional lab imaging system and students are happy to have the images right on their phones for them to access. I'm getting a few more of these.
